local amenities

The village centre and square is just a 2 minute stroll away from Casa Colomba where you will find all the local shops, bars and amenities.

There is a local supermarket which sells everything from every day food items to household goods; and it also has a very good delicatessen counter. A large supermarket is just a 5 minute drive away and a large commercial centre and hyper market is a 15 to 20 minute drive away.

There is also a wonderful bakery selling all types of breads and local produce, plus a Rosticceria, which is open every day including Sunday mornings.

bars and cafes

In the main square you will find 3 bars all are open from 6 in the morning to well after midnight, and all serve coffees, aperitifs, beers, wines and snacks. The largest village bar doubles up as a Gelateria serving many delicious flavours of artisan ice cream; whilst another bar is famous for its aperitivi (pre dinner drinks) and puts on a marvellous spread of nibbles and local snacks.

nightlife

The bars in the village stay open till late if you prefer a low key traditional evening out, however one of the village bars does play chart topping music at the weekends and tends to appeal to a younger crowd.

Many festivals throughout the summer (Weekends) take place not only in Vicopisano but the surrounding villages; food is always the main theme but often music and dancing will go on until the early hours.

For those who prefer a sophisticated night on the town there is vibrant night life not too far away The Boccaccio Club, a trendy disco with 5 different dance floors is just a 5 minute drive away, for those who prefer not to dance there is also a trendy open air lounge bar with a 70’s theme and complete with Jacuzzi!
